Welcome!

We arrive out of many singular rooms, walking over fallen branches and stones, in order to journey together.
We come to be assured...to rest for a while…to resist the headlong tumble into the next moment.
We come to take the time to look into one another’s faces and see there the reflection of our own eyes.
We come to labour in hope for the dawning of a new world without hatred, without violence, without injustice.
This is the reason of gathering.  This is the reason of gathering in religious community… to laugh, to share silence and memory, to build hope, and bring that hope alive in our world.
It is good to be together.  And you are welcome here.

The Unitarian Fellowship of Peterborough welcomes you – just as you are – to our community.  Whether you are looking for an open-minded faith community, a place to explore and question, or a place for your children to find their own religious path, I invite you to gather with us.  Together, we learn as we search for truth.  Together, we celebrate life’s gifts and share our burdens.  Together, as a multigenerational and diverse community, we work toward peace and justice.

We are committed to providing a liberal religious presence for Peterborough and the Kawarthas just as we have for almost fifty years.  With beginnings as an organized religious movement in the sixteenth century Protestant Reformation, today Unitarianism embraces a diversity of theological and philosophical outlooks, drawing insight from all sources.

We don’t require members to believe the same things. Rather, ours is a fellowship which covenants to support each other as we search for truth and meaning.  So, if you want to explore your spirituality and beliefs, if you need a community that will nourish you along life’s journey, if you and your children have questions about life’s meaning…this may be just the place for you!
